ANASTASIA STATE PARK, ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH, FLORIDA

My friend, Andrea, recommended this place. It is absolutely gorgeous!

We even took an evening walk on the beach.
Yep, that is Bob on the beach!

DAY 2 Bob and Janet's Adventure

What a beautiful day (even with the rain)!

We decided to get to Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine early and spend the day in the Oldest City in the United States.

We quickly parked the RV and took off toward the city. Crossing bridges, viewing the lighthouse, touring the city, and just enjoying each other made this a great day.

Temporary "lift" Bridge of Lions over the Matanzas River

This is the Matanzas River.
Matanzas=Bloody Massacre.
Can you imagine so many casualties that the river was red with blood for days?

Here are some photos from our sightseeing in St. Augustine:

DAY 1 Bob and Janet's Adventure Begins

Tuesday, June 10th was our first day on the road.
Janet took the wheel for the first 150+ miles.

Bob drove for awhile, and then it started raining. We passed a very famous landmark.

Do you recognize it?

After locating a couple of Walmarts that did not allow overnight parking, we spent our first night in a beautiful rest area near St. Augustine. We saw that it had night time security, so we decided to stay there. The Highway Patrol car was no more than 50 feet from us all night long. We felt very safe.
We both slept very well on our first night in our RV.
We would love to hear from you with any of your traveling experiences.
