DAY 20-21 OUTER BANKS, NC

DAYS 20-21
Outer Banks, NC

We have grown fond of looking at the sky and have taken some fascinating pictures. One of them looks like we have our own guardian angel overhead. Do you see it?

Our first stop in NC’s Outer Banks was Roanoke Island, land of the Lost Colony. They had a great Visitor Center with a walk through the settlement, a tour of the Queen Elizabeth II, and a museum telling the story of the Lost Colony.

The reconstructed lighthouse doesn’t really resemble a lighthouse,
but I guess it serves its purpose. Our next stop was The Wright Brothers Monument and museum. This was pretty interesting. We are learning a lot on our historical journey.

The Wright Brothers Monument
Unfortunately, we regret that we did not go farther south to Cape Hatteras to see the lighthouse there. Perhaps another trip.

With our RV, we couldn’t find a good place to stop and catch the waves, but got a few pictures of the ocean. We hope to get our feet wet when we get to Cape Cod.

2 of my favorite vacations spots - the outer banks but especially Williamsburg. Been to W 3 times - still would like to go back! Len

The pictures are great! I knew you would love Williamsburg and especially the beetle. The Outer Banks are the greatest. Glad you're enjoying our State.
